Made to Measure

Starting with a free initial consultation, a made-to-measure project will typically trace the following 7-step process:

  1. Initial Consultation
  2. Specification
  3. Prototype System
  4. Candidate System
  5. Live System
  6. Documentation & Training
  7. Support

1. Initial Consultation

A free interview lasting approximately an hour in which the scope and direction of the project can be established. Should the client wish to proceed a specification document will be drawn up on a fixed fee basis.

2. Specification

A specification document is drawn up detailing the work to be carried out and the technology recommended.

A fixed fee quotation is attached to the specification along with an expected timescale for development.

The specification can be used either as a basis for Milldata to develop the project, and/or as a basis for obtaining competetive quotes from other suppliers.

The fixed fee for the specification is waived if the client chooses Milldata to proceed with the work .

3.  Prototype System

The prototype system is delivered soon after the specification is complete. It closely resembles the finished product but is not complete in all respects, and is chiefly designed to be tested by end-users to elicit their feedback.

4. Candidate System

Incorporating feedback from users, a fully-finished candidate system is delivered for a second round of feedback and final approval.

5. Live System

Having made any final changes, the live system is installed. Live data from existing systems is migrated into the new system.
